The former executive director of a children's museum has been indicted on a distribution of child pornography charge.
SIMSBURY, CT — A former Lutz Children's Museum executive director was indicted on a distribution of child pornography charge Thursday, according to a statement from federal prosecutors. Robert Eckert, 56, of Simsbury, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Prosecutors claim that Eckert used online platforms to distribute images of child sexual abuse and communicate about the distribution of child pornography. He accessed the online platforms on his phone, at his home, and at the Lutz Children’s Museum in Manchester where he was executive director.
If convicted of the charge, Eckert faces a mandatory minimum prison term of 5 years and a maximum term of 20 years.
