Richard “Dick” M. Sheridan, died peacefully on November 6, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital with his family by his side after a decades-long battle with multiple sclerosis. He was 75.

Dick was born in Hartford on October 15, 1943 to his late parents, Peter and Mary (Drummond) Sheridan. He lived in Granby for the last three years in the caring and loving community at the MeadowBrook of Granby nursing home. Prior to that, Dick lived in Pine Meadow, Simsbury and Hartford.

Dick was a 1961 graduate of Bulkeley High School and a 1965 graduate of Fairfield University. He received his Juris Doctor degree in 1968 from University of Connecticut School of Law. Dick was an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Connecticut for over 25 years. Prior to his retirement in 1996, he had the honor of arguing a case before the United States Supreme Court.

Dick was known for his generosity and his kindheartedness. He had a passion for history, was a consummate joke-teller and an enthusiastic sports fan. He especially enjoyed cheering for Notre Dame and the New York Giants. He will, however, be primarily remembered as an avid, life-long Red Sox supporter. Luckily, Dick was able to see his team deliver one more World Series win this year before he passed.

Above all, Dick was a beloved husband, father, grandfather (known lovingly to his grandchildren as “Bampi”) and friend. Nothing made him happier than spending time with those he loved and who loved him. He was a friend of Bill W. and felt great pride in helping others find similar friendship as well. Dick will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but he will never be forgotten.
