Simsbury To Receive More Than $2 Million From State
The town is one of several receiving funds from a State Bond Commission measure.

HARTFORD, CT — The State Bond Commission has approved a measure to provide towns with aid for upcoming projects and to cover expenditures, according to a statement from State Sen. Kevin Witkos (R-Canton).
At their meeting held on April 16th, the Bond Commission gave final approval to expenditures to include:
- $39,968 reimbursement for body worn cameras for the Town of Simsbury
- $2 million for improvements to the State Police firing range in Simsbury
The towns of Avon, Canton, and Granby will also receive funding through the Local Bridge Program in the amounts below for the following projects:

- Avon $517,000 - Cider Brook Road over Cider Brook
- Canton $771,222 - West Road over Cherry Brook
- Granby $1,327,500 - Griffin Road over Hungary Brook
"I am pleased that the State Bond Commission saw the value in these projects and voted in support. This investment in infrastructure and public safety will benefit all residents and is a responsible and efficient use of taxpayer dollars. I am grateful to the Governor for including these items on the Bond Commission agenda and to the members for their support," Witkos said in a statement.
