EAST GRANBY, CT — A two-vehicle crash on Route 20 westbound claimed the life of a Simsbury man and sent two others to a hospital with serious injuries, according to state police and fire officials.

The crash, which involved a car and an SUV, occurred around 5:47 a.m., and forced closure of the busy roadway, said Trooper Josue J. Dorelus of the state police media relations unit.

Lynton St. Marie, 34, of Simsbury, was the driver of a 2005 Nissan Altima which collided with a 2017 Toyota Highlander operated by Salvador Oliveras, 41, of Chicopee, Mass.

East Granby Fire chief Kerry Flaherty reported Oliveras had to be extricated from the SUV, with a female passenger, Brianna Schumann, 30, requiring nearly an hour to be removed due to entrapment under the dashboard.

All three were transported to Hartford Hospital, where St. Marie was pronounced dead, state police said.
