Simsbury Restaurant To Hire Farmer

Millwright's in Simsbury is looking for a farmer to supply food for its award-winning restaurant.

SIMSBURY, CT — Millwright's Restaurant & Tavern in Simsbury is looking to start its own farm, according to The Hartford Courant. The restaurant opened 8 1/2 years ago, and chef Tyler Anderson said the new project would be a "15-acre boutique farm that will primarily provide food for our award-winning restaurant."

Few restaurants across the country grow their own food, but Anderson told The Hartford Courant that he was inspired after he visited Oyster Club in Mystic. The restaurant bought an old family farm about three years ago.

Anderson said one reason for the interest in a farm is to maintain control from the "seed to the table."
