Simsbury Public Schools Closed Friday

Simsbury Public Schools will be closed due to slippery conditions on the roads.

As snow continues to fall during a slow-moving nor-easter, many school districts in the region have opted to close schools.

Superintendent Matthew Curtis announced that Simsbury Schools will be closed Friday as town crews work to clean up the moderate snowfall from a nor'easter that continues to pass over the state.

The storm dropped several inches of heavy snow on Connecticut Thursday night leaving hazardous conditions as temperatures dropped below freezing.

The National Weather Service says snow will continue Friday until about 2 p.m., adding another 1 to 3 inches to what's already on the ground.

Much of the snow will likely melt this weekend when temperatures are expected to reach the mid-40s.
