Voters Unanimous on Top Scholastic Grappling Squad

Three teams improved their positions over last week, while one new entry debuted in the top 10.

CONNECTICUT — As usual, Danbury received every first-place vote in the latest weekly Connecticut high school wrestling poll, while Simsbury leaped over Fairfield Warde to assume the second position.

Here are the top 10, with last week's ranking in parentheses, plus all other programs garnering votes.

  4. Bristol Eastern (lw: 4)
  5. Xavier (lw: 5)

  9. Staples (lw: 7)
  10. Trumbull (lw: N/R)

Also receiving votes: Foran, Suffield/Windsor Locks, Guilford, East Haven, Manchester, Haddam-Killingworth, Branford, New Milford, Middletown, Ellis Tech, Ledyard, Windham, Platt, Greenwich, Wethersfield, Fitch.
