The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Hartford and Tolland counties, which goes into effect 1 a.m. Sunday and continues until 1 p.m. Sunday.

According to the advisory, here is what you can expect:

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations less than one inch, mainly near the Mass Pike. Ice accumulations of a trace to one tenth of an inch.

* WHEN...From 1 AM to 1 PM EST Sunday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Rain, sleet and freezing rain developing after midnight with some snow possible near the Mass Pike. Precipitation changing to all rain by midday Sunday. The ice will result in difficult travel conditions.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

Today: Rain likely, mainly between noon and 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. Northwest wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Tonight: Rain, mainly after 4am. Low around 34. Calm wind becoming northeast 5 to 7 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Sunday: Rain and sleet, becoming all rain after 9am. High near 40. Northeast wind 7 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no sleet accumulation expected.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35. Light north wind.
