Your Questions, Comments Wanted Wednesday Night for Proposed Recreation Trail Through Tariffville
At a public information meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday night (tonight) you can hear about the trail and comment or ask questions.

A recreational trail for bike riders, walkers, runners and other non-motorized traffic has been proposed to run through the Tariffville section of Simsbury and would connect with longer trails in the area.
Simsbury town officials have announced they’re holding a “a preliminary meeting to solicit public comment and to discuss possible route options” at 6 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, April 22 in the cafeteria of Tariffville Elementary School, 42 Winthrop St.
The trail in Simsbury would be part of the East Coast Greenway, which the town’s announcement describes as “a trail system covering much of the East Coast which creates safe, accessible recreational routes for people of all ages and abilities.”

The Simsbury part of the trail, the “Tariffville Connector” would connect the 30-mile-long Farmington Valley Greenway at Routes 10/202/315 through Tariffville to the border with Bloomfield. Eventually, the plan is to extend that end of the trail through Bloomfield and Windsor.
Town officials aren’t making any decisions on the trail yet, and they want public input about it. Tonight’s meeting is only meant to present information about it to the public and get some comments. If you can’t make it to the meeting, but would like to comment, you can email Tom Cooke, Simsbury director of administrative services, at tcooke@simsbury-ct.gov.
