SIMSBURY, CT — A high school ice hockey game at Simsbury Farms Saturday was interrupted, and ultimately postponed, due to an accident involving the rink's Zamboni ice resurfacing machine.

The accident, which took place between the second and third periods of the game between South Windsor and Simsbury high schools, created a hole in the boards, causing officials to postpone the contest to an unspecified date.

"Within 45 minutes of the incident, the rink was back to fully operational. Everything is running on schedule," according to Krista Yard of the Simsbury Parks & Recreation Department.
