Foreiners Journey in Concert Fitch High Auditorium
5th annual benefit concert for Stonington & Fitch High Schools Music Departments
The National Touring Production of Foreigners Journey tribute to perform a benefit concert for Fitch & Stonington High School Music Departments.
Opening the show are local favorites Dan Watson & James Harris performing together for the first time.
The Fitch and Stonington High School Music Department are hosting a joint benefit concert at Fitch High School Auditorium to raise much needed funds to support music educational equipment and supplies for their school’s music programs. The concert is scheduled for April 5 at 7 PM at the school’s auditorium which seats 1,400 concert goers.

This year’s concert is the fifth annual benefit for Fitch and Stonington High School’s Music Departments. Each year both schools held separate events this is the first year both schools came together in a joint effort to bring their school’s music students together on stage. The music students from both schools will perform back up instrumentation on some songs with Frontiers Journey Tribute.
Katrina Gottlieb, band director at Stonington High School said “It is a great experience for our music students to learn pop music and to perform with professional musicians with big arena sound and lighting. “

John Frascarelli, music director at Fitch High School said,” The past benefit shows have been a complete success and has contributed much needed funds to our music program, The students enjoy learning the music of all of the past rock shows and this is a unique and fun way to raise funding for our cause.”
Past benefit shows for both Stonington and Fitch High Schools included Beatlemania, Kashmir, Led Zeppelin tribute, Tusk, Fleetwood Mac tribute, The Classic Stones and others.
This year’s concert will feature Frontiers Journey and is the next best thing to the real Foreigner and Journey, the band’s tribute performances have been selling out throughout the country and just recently at the Stadium Theater in Rhode Island. Paul Lococo, event organizer stated “So why fight the crowds at a big venue and pay hundreds of dollars for tickets when you can see the next best right here in Groton at an affordable price and plenty of free parking and all for a good cause helping support education in our schools.”
The national touring production of Foreigners Journey brings together the incredible sounds of two of rocks greatest arena bands of the 80’s – Foreigner & Journey. Experience the rock ballads Faithfully, Waiting For A Girl Like You & Open Arms, along with rock classics Cold As Ice, Urgent, Hot Blooded, Feels Like The First Time, Jukebox Hero, Separate Ways, Don’t Stop Believin’, Anyway You Want It … and so much more! All performed as the originals were, in their original key and pitch. Foreigners Journey has thrilled audiences for over 10 years performing together. A must see concert.
