4 Stratford Schools See New Coronavirus Cases Monday

Community members at Bunnell and Stratford high schools, Flood Middle School and Lordship Elementary School tested positive for the virus.

STRATFORD, CT — New coronavirus cases were reported Monday at four Stratford schools.

Community members at Bunnell and Stratford high schools, Flood Middle School and Lordship Elementary School tested positive for the virus, according to Superintendent Janet Robinson.

Two Bunnell community members tested positive. One of the community members was last in the school building Oct. 12 and the other was participating in distance learning, Robinson said in messages to parents and staff. The case at Flood also involved a person taking part in distance learning.

The person who tested positive at Stratford High School was in the school building Monday. In the Lordship case, the person who tested positive was last in the school building Oct. 9.

Anyone considered a "close contact" of a person who tested positive has been or will be
notified by officials and provided with instructions on what steps to take regarding quarantine and returning to school. In some cases, no direct contacts were identified.

Stratford schools that have had coronavirus cases since the start of the academic year also include Second Hill Lane School and Wooster Middle School, which, as of last week, had about 85 students and two teachers in quarantine. Bunnell closed for two weeks after several cases were confirmed in September within the school community.
