STRATFORD, CT — Six cars were reported stolen Tuesday in Stratford, according to police.
The thefts occurred between 5 and 7:30 a.m., police said. The thieves targeted cars that were unlocked, with the engine running, and were left unattended, according to police, who said one vehicle was stolen from a gas station and the others were taken from residential neighborhoods.
“The Stratford Police would like to remind car owners to lock their cars, do not leave keys in the cars, and do not leave them unattended during warming,” police said in a news release. “Car owners should consider additional anti-theft devices such as steering wheel and pedal locks.”
