7 People Displaced By Stratford Fire
The American Red Cross is assisting the family of seven, whose home is uninhabitable.
STRATFORD, CT — A family of seven was displaced after a fire Monday at their Stratford home.
Firefighters responded about 11:15 p.m. to the 100 block of Cheshire Street, where they found heavy fire coming from the second-floor bedroom windows of the large colonial home, according to a news release from the Stratford Fire Department. The blaze extended up into the attic and the interior of the residence was heavily damaged.
A team of 22 firefighters and two safety officers brought the blaze under control in 30 minutes, the news release said. No one was injured. The American Red Cross is assisting the family.

The cause of the incident is under investigation by the town fire marshal’s office.
