After Fatal Crash In Stratford, Investigation Closes I-95

A 31-year-old man died in the weekend crash, according to state police.

STRATFORD, CT — Police shut down a section of Interstate 95 on Wednesday to investigate a fatal crash that occurred over the weekend in Stratford.

The collision happened just before 1 a.m. Sunday on northbound I-95 south of Exit 31, according to a report from Connecticut State Police. Desbert Serrant lost control his 2005 Infiniti G35 and struck the metal guard rail in the road’s right shoulder before hitting the concrete barrier in the left shoulder and being ejected from the vehicle, the reported said. Serrant, 31, of the 500 block of Ellsworth Street in Bridgeport, was pronounced dead at the scene.

I-95 northbound at Exit 30 was closed briefly starting 9:30 a.m. Wednesday while police followed up on the investigation, Trooper First Class Pedro A. Muñiz confirmed.
