Cops: Stratford DUI Suspect Fled Scene of Accident

A Stratford man was arrested in Milford Friday for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident in which police said he was driving under the influence.

Peter Kopchick was charged with DUI and evading responsibility.

The alleged accident happened at the intersection of New Haven Avenue and Old Gate Lane. Police said they later found Kopchick’s vehicle in a parking lot on the Boston Post Road.

Subsequent to the Stratford man’s arrest, a breathalyzer test revealed an elevated blood alcohol level, police said.
