85 Wooster Students Quarantined; Coronavirus Case At Stratford HS
"This pandemic has set up a crisis for all of us and there is no playbook to guide us," Stratford's superintendent said to staff.
STRATFORD, CT — Thursday yielded multiple coronavirus-related developments within the Stratford school district.
Parents and staff were notified Thursday evening that a Stratford High School community member had tested positive for the virus. The person had not been in the school building since Oct. 9, and no one at the school had close-contact exposure with the community member, Superintendent Janet Robinson said in an email.
Earlier in the day, Robinson sent an email to staff, in which she said about 85 Wooster Middle School students and two teachers at the school were quarantined. The district had notified families Monday about a Wooster community member testing positive for the virus.

“Although we have only been in school a short while, we have had a number of issues and events to deal with which we have never experienced before,” Robinson said in her email Thursday to staff.
In addition to cases at Wooster and Stratford High School, Second Hill Lane School and Bunnell High School have also seen virus cases, with Bunnell closing for two weeks after several cases were confirmed within the school community in September.

“This pandemic has set up a crisis for all of us and there is no playbook to guide us,” Robinson said to staff. “We are learning as we go through this. We certainly know more than when we went out in March, but there are still so many unknowns.”
Robinson invited staff to reach out to her about any needs and feelings related to the impact of the pandemic in schools.
“We each have to take care of ourselves and lean on one another,” she said. “Social distancing is not doing this alone. As friends and colleagues, we are all in this together.”
