Via the Town of Stratford: STRATFORD, CT — The Town of Stratford’s annual Holiday Lighting Festival will be celebrated this year at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at Town Hall.

Highlights of the Holiday Lighting Festival will include performances by the Stratford High School Select Choir and Second Hill Lane Elementary School students, face painting and a magician. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive via firetruck, sirens and all. Stratford High School students and the Hearts of Hope organization will be handing out complimentary, hand-painted ornaments. In addition, families can look forward to photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, hot chocolate and donuts.

Also in keeping with tradition, families with young children are invited to begin the Holiday Lighting Festival with a free family program at the Stratford Library. This year’s library program will run 4 to 5 p.m. Dec. 4 (prior to the festivities at Town Hall) and will consist of a Gingerbread Man puppet show. In this twist on the classic story, the cookie doesn’t crumble — the story has a happy ending. Families can sing along and help the Gingerbread Man, “Run, run, as fast as you can!” and then head over to Town Hall for the remaining festivities.
