The student used a knife to injure himself, according to police.
WTNH News 8 reports he stabbed himself inside a classroom during first period.
Police said the school was temporarily placed in lockdown until officers and medical personnel arrived.
The student is listed in stable condition, according to Capt. Frank Eannotti.
Eannotti said police are continuing to investigate the incident and the student’s name won’t be released because of his age.
“The Stratford Board of Education will determine the schedule for the remainder of the school week,” Eannotti wrote in a news release. “This was an isolated incident of self harm and no other students were harmed.”
