First Snow In Stratford: No Major Crashes, School Starts On Time
Stratford's fire marshal credited the town public works department for helping prevent emergencies by getting the roads cleared quickly.
STRATFORD, CT — The first snow of the year is on the ground in Stratford, but the fire department has not seen a significant spike in calls as a result, according to Fire Marshal Brian Lampart.
"I think we've lucked out," he said.
Reports of crashes remain level, according to Lampart, and the department has not had word of any outages or downed trees in town.

"Medicals always tend to stack up more during a storm," he said, adding that otherwise the department has received a typical amount of emergency calls since the snow fell overnight Monday.
As of midnight Tuesday, Sikorsky Memorial Airport had received 2 inches of snowfall, according to unofficial totals from the National Weather Service, after a mix of rain and snow fell over the area Sunday and Monday, with snow overnight Monday into Tuesday. While many nearby school districts had late starts Tuesday, Stratford schools were in session at the usual time, although the school district did let out early Monday.
