This weekend's weather isn't going to be good but there is some excellent news weather-wise for next week.

STRATFORD, CT — The latest details on the Mother’s Day weekend forecast in Stratford includes lots of rain, but once we get past this weekend, we're finally looking at a nice weather week coming up.

WTNH News 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmons wrote, "Lots of clouds and some sunshine today with our temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s. More clouds tonight leading to rain moving in on Saturday. The rain will be moving in very slowly starting around 8 AM western Connecticut and it might take until 3-4 PM eastern Connecticut. Heavy rain Saturday night, ending early on Sunday. Not a washout, but a few scattered showers possible for Mother's Day."

Sunday: Rain likely, mainly before noon. Cloudy, with a high near 64. North wind 11 to 14 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
