Lou DeCilio, Chairman of the Stratford Republicans noted that the event signals not only the beginning of Hoydick’s campaign for re-election as the Town’s history-making first female mayor, but a team of Republican Town Council members who have worked alongside the mayor to restore professionalism and Town government, and to implement four successive mill rate reductions – a first for any Stratford Town Council.
“Under Mayor Hoydick’s leadership, the Town is on firmer financial footing, we stopped the successive tax increases of years past, have refinanced bonded debt to realize significant savings, and we have made significant strides in economic development and redevelopment,” said DeCilio. “This has been accomplished while capably managing the town-wide response to COVID-19 during the past fifteen months which brought an additional set of challenges no one could have predicted four years ago.”

DeCilio said that this event would be the first of several that are designed to be within town supporting local businesses while raising needed funds to run the Mayor’s re-election campaign, and at a low-cost intended to be affordable for supporters to come out and show their enthusiasm during a fun evening.
“Stratford has a lot to celebrate, particularly as we emerge from this pandemic,” said DeCilio. “We also have a lot more work to do. We are hoping to see our friends and family in this community come out and join us to support those achievements as we set our sites on new goals.”
