Lightning Strikes Stratford Home, Causing Attic Fire

STRATFORD, CT — A home was set ablaze by lightning Wednesday in Stratford, according to the fire department. Amid a fast-moving thunderstorm in the afternoon, lightning struck a multi-family residence in the 1700 block of Main Street, damaging the chimney and starting a fire in the attic, a news release from the Stratford Fire Department stated. Despite challenging weather conditions, firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, according to the department, and no one was injured.
