With Low Windchills Expected, Stratford Announces Warming Centers

Windchills Saturday are predicted to be between zero and 10 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

STRATFORD, CT — The Town of Stratford has initiated its warming center protocol upon receiving a cold weather advisory notice from the state of Connecticut, according to a memo from the town's emergency management director.

The National Weather Service predicted temperatures in the single digits for overnight Friday, with a high near 30 degrees Saturday, but daytime windchills between zero and 10 degrees. For overnight and long-term sheltering, residents should dial 211, the memo said.
