Cathy Leite

Photography

Cathy Leite, a photographer living in Naugatuck, uses nature as her muse.

"My first interest in photography began as a child," she says. "Looking through a wildlife book, it was then that I knew I wanted to photograph the animals that I saw in those pages. That was when my love for photography began.

"As a teenager, I had my first Kodak film camera. People would tell me that my photos looked like postcards.

"Later, I bought a Canon Rebel film camera, but it wasn’t until just a couple of years ago that I bought my first digital camera, a Canon T2i."

"I’ve always had a deep appreciation for nature. I love to photograph forests, beaches, flowers, insects or anything that catches my eye. I also enjoy the experiences that come with it, hiking through the forests, walking along the sandy shore listening to the waves, or just simply being outdoors listening to the sounds in nature."

Leite's photos have been in "Act Two Magazine" and on the cover of "Milford Living Magazine."  She has also used her services for “Hope Alliance for Animals,” a sanctuary for special needs pets.

Cathy Leite is one of the artisans on sale at "Artists and Artisans in Paradise," Aug. 25, at Paradise Green in Stratford.

You can see more of her work at her website.

Acoustic Guitar

Steve Leite is a local musician playing bass and guitar in two bands, as well as playing solo acoustically. He lives in Naugatuck.

"I started playing the bass to my favorite songs when I was only 13," he says. "I was in my first band at 15 and have been in many bands since.

"Eventually I decided to branch out and began learning to play the guitar, something that I‘ve been doing for the past 25 years. I’ve played everything from restaurants and clubs to convalescent homes."

Leite is playing with the bands “The Hell Catz” and “Sound Junkies.” You can hear him play his acoustic music Sunday at Artists & Artisans in Paradise.
