Nichols Elementary Goes Remote For Rest Of Week Due To Virus
Across the Stratford school district as of early Tuesday, 712 students and staffers were in quarantine.
STRATFORD, CT — Most Stratford elementary schools began the process Monday of fully reopening, but one school that was set to reopen full-time will close for the week instead.
Nichols Elementary School will move to online-only learning through Friday, according to a message from the school district. The move comes after a new coronavirus case was confirmed Monday within the school community.
As of early Tuesday, three Nichols students and staff members were in isolation with the virus and 50 students and staffers were in quarantine, according to the district's data dashboard, which reflects the most current available numbers.

Monday marked the first day of elementary schools’ transition to full-time classroom learning in Stratford, with kindergarteners, first-graders and English language learners back in school four days a week. Grades two through four are set to follow Nov. 23, and grades five and six will return full-time Nov. 30.
Also Monday, Stratford High School saw three new virus cases and Bunnell High School recorded three new cases. Both schools are on a distance learning schedule through Nov. 30.

Lordship and Eli Whitney elementary schools both saw one new case each Monday.
