STRATFORD, CT — After Stratford's Memorial Day parade was canceled due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19, Stratford VFW Post 9460 is announcing the creation of a website for residents to honor those Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the military during armed conflicts.

"During this uncertain time, the Raymond T. Goldbach VFW Post 9460 is both pleased and honored, through the generosity of Mayor Laura Hoydick, to be provided with this opportunity to honor and remember those that paid the ultimate price," said Steve Evangelist, commander of VFW Post 9460, in a town news release.

The site, www.stratfordmemorialday.com, is live. Residents can enter the names of the fallen they would like to recognize and may also make a donation to support Post 9460, although a donation is not required to submit a commemoration.
