Tony coached Pop Warner Football in Stratford for 35 years and served as the President of the Board for ten years until he retired.

STRATFORD, CT - Antonio M. “Tony” Ribeiro, Jr. age 73, of Stratford, entered peaceful rest on March 28, 2020 at Bridgeport Hospital.

He was the son of the late Antonio M. Ribeiro, Sr. and Alice Ribeiro and was born on March 7, 1947 in Bridgeport. Tony proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and worked as a buyer for Falk Industries in NYC until his retirement.


Tony coached Pop Warner Football in Stratford for 35 years and served as the President of the Board for ten years until he retired. In his early 20’s, Tony also coached Baseball for Hilltop Market and Basketball for St. James Parish in Stratford. In 2007, Tony was honored by The Stratford Community Fund as its recipient of the Lighthouse Award in recognition of his dedicated volunteer service to the Stratford community.

Tony is survived by his devoted sister, Terrijoy Anderson of Stratford, his brother, Jon Ribeiro of Boerne, TX, his niece Blair Ribeiro and nephews, Austin and Justin all of Stratford, as well as his cousins. Tony is also survived by his best friend and companion, Janet Steinberg and the Steinberg family. In addition to his parents, Tony was predeceased by his brother, Don Carlos Ribeiro. When social restrictions are lifted, a Funeral Service and Burial will be celebrated at the Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.
