Obituary: Frances R. Pettinella, 95, of Stratford

Frances, an active member of St. Mark's Church, worked for Chance Vought, Sikorsky Aircraft and the Town of Stratford.

STRATFORD, CT - (From Adzima Funeral Home) Frances R. Pettinella, age 95, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Victor Pettinella passed away on May 10, 2021 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford.

Frances was born in Stratford on March 10, 1926 the youngest of nine children to John and Justina (Riccardioni) Trotta and had been a lifelong area resident.

She was a graduate of Stratford High School, class of 1944. After high school Frances worked for Chance Vought, Sikorsky Aircraft, and retired from the Town of Stratford’s Engineering Department, where she was employed as a Secretary from 1971-1989.

Frances was an active member of St. Mark’s Church in Stratford, where she was a member, Secretary and Vice President of the Ladies Guild, church office volunteer, and taught third grade religious education until 2013.

Survivors include her devoted daughter, Carol Maurutis and her husband Michael of Milford, six cherished grandchildren, Shelley Eisenhandler (Wes), Jeffrey Maurutis, Kevin Maurutis (Amanda), Brian Piccirillo, Brad Piccirillo (Heather), and Matthew Piccirillo (Alison), 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Frances was pre-deceased by her daughter, Donna Piccirillo and her husband James, and her seven siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 14th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Marks Church, 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Interment will be private.

Everyone in attendance must follow the current COVID 19 guidelines; wear a mask and practice social distancing.
