Obituary: Joan P. Linden, 88, of Stratford

Joan was a trusted foster parent for many years. She worked as a teller for Stratford Trust and was a volunteer at Bridgeport Hospital.

STRATFORD, CT - (From Dennis & D'Arcy Funeral Home) Joan P. Linden, age 88 of Stratford passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was the widow of Charles Kenneth Linden.

Born in Bridgeport on June 12, 1933 she was the daughter of the late William L. Parson and Anne-Louise Lund Parson.

Joan worked as a teller for Stratford Trust for many years until she found a passion in day care for children. Joan was trusted foster parent to many children over the years and was greatly loved by all of them.

She was a volunteer at Bridgeport Hospital oncology floor, earlier years she was a Cuddler to new born babies at the hospital. She was a faithful member of First Congregational Church in Stratford and enjoyed baking, gardening and crafts.

She recently at the age of 86 enjoyed her first ride on her neighbors Harley Davidson, a memory she spoke of often.

Life as a mother and grandmother was most important to her, she will be deeply missed by her devoted children; Robert W. Linden of East Lyme, Richard M. (Gail) Linden of Chicago, IL, Catharine Linden of Shelton, Deborah (Albert) Morgia of Milford and Susan Linden of Stratford.

She is also survived by her brother, Robert W. (Teruko) Parson of Tucson AZ, her granddaughters; Janelle Linden and Alison Morgia and great granddaughter, Molly Gauthier.

She was predeceased by her granddaughters; Ashley Gauthier and Alicia Morgia and her sister in-law, Mildred Linden.

At Joan’s request all funeral services are to be held privately.
