Josephine "Josie" Maniscalco Amoroso, age 82, of Stratford, beloved wife of Anthony B. Amoroso, passed away at midnight on June 27, 2013 in Masonicare Newtown with her loving family by her side.
Josie was born in Bridgeport and was a lifetime resident of Stratford. For many years she was the co-proprietor with her husband of the Town Squire Restaurants and later worked at Lenox Jewelers in Fairfield.
Josie enjoyed life to the fullest, traveling and going out with friends, most recently her “Pearlie Girlies” group from Oronoque Village. Most of all, Josie loved spending time with her family.
Along with her husband Anthony of 62 years, she is also survived by her children, Donna Pantano and her husband Michael of Monroe, Joseph Amoroso and his wife Josephine of Bethany and Anthony G. Amoroso and his wife Debra of Monroe.
Josie adored her grandchildren who feel the same way about her, Vanessa Galello and her husband Craig, Michael A. Pantano, Grayson and Tanner Amoroso, Jennifer and Anthony Amoroso, and Great-Grandson, Benjamin Galello.
Josie is also survived by two brothers Salvatore Maniscalco and his wife Helen, Josie’s dear friend of Fairfield and Thomas Maniscalco of Bridgeport. Josephine was pre-deceased by her parents, Anthony and Madeline Tripani Maniscalco, in-laws Joseph and Mary Amoroso, brothers Joseph Paraspola and Vincent Maniscalco and sister Jenny Puglio, her close sisters-in-law, Jean Cirella, Jean Maniscalco, and Verna Maniscalco.
