Obituary: Marie “Magga” Yachymczyk, 82, of Stratford

STRATFORD, CT - (From Adzima Funeral Home) Marie “Magga” Yachymczyk, age 82, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2021 in her home.

Marie was born in Bridgeport on September 15, 1938 to the late Anthony and Helen (Nemergut) Dzujna and had been a lifelong area resident.

She was a graduate of Sts. Cyril and Methodious High School.

“Mags” loved spending time at the beach, traveling with family, friends and taking trips to the casino. She especially loved extended stays in Tennessee visiting with her daughter. Calvin, Leo, Henry, and Benjamin were the lights of her life.

Survivors include her devoted daughter, Susan Petruccelli and her husband Claude of Tennessee, her cherished grandchildren, Mario Petruccelli and wife Christine of Milford, Claude “Boomer” Petruccelli and wife Jodi of Canada, Christopher Petruccelli and wife Laurel of Hawaii, Jason Yachymczyk of Florida, Jessica Guilbalt of Connecticut, Jillian and husband Eugene of Connecticut, Nicole Escobar and husband Adam of Florida, brothers, George Dzujna and his wife Christine of New Hampshire, and Andrew Dzujna and his wife Kathleen of Stratford, sister-in-law, Charlotte Dzujna of Shelton, and her special cousin, Gail Filipelli and her husband Lou.

She so loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marie was pre-deceased by her son, Stephen Yachymczyk and brother, Anthony Dzujna.

A Mass of Christina Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 30th at 10:00 a.m. meeting directly at St. Mark Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Interment will be private.

Everyone in attendance must follow the current COVID 19 guidelines, wear a mask and practice social distancing.
