Police Shooting Investigated In Stratford, Road Remains Closed

STRATFORD, CT — State police and the State Attorney's Office continue to investigate a shooting that involved a Stratford police officer Friday night. The intersection of Main Street and Main Street Putney will remain closed due to the investigation.

Stratford officers attempted to serve a felony warrant on domestic charges in the area of Main Street around 7:35 p.m., said Stratford police Capt. Frank Eannotti, police spokesman.

The suspect was seen entering a vehicle and officers attempted a traffic stop "where force was used," Eannotti said.

The suspect was injured in the shooting and taken to an area hospital. A firearm was found at the scene, according to Eannotti.

Officers involved in the incident were wearing body cameras. State police and the Hartford State's Attorney's Office are expected to release the video in the coming days.
