Over 700 Coronavirus Cases Confirmed In Stratford
New virus data was recently released on patient recovery and nursing home deaths in Stratford.
STRATFORD, CT — There were more than 700 confirmed coronavirus cases in Stratford as of Friday, according to an email from the mayor’s office.
The town had 702 confirmed cases, Mayor Laura Hoydick said Friday in the email to residents, a week-over-week increase of 63 known cases. There were 64 virus-associated deaths in Stratford as of Friday, up week-over-week by five.
Of the fatalities in town, at least 38 involved residents of nursing homes or eldercare facilities, according to data released Thursday by the governor’s office. Lord Chamberlain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center had 29 confirmed virus-associated deaths and three probable virus-related fatalities; Lord Chamberlain Manor had two confirmed deaths; and Spring Village at Stratford had seven confirmed deaths and seven probable virus-associated fatalities.

Nine percent of Stratford residents confirmed to have the virus had died as of Friday, according to the mayor’s office, while 62 percent of patients were recovered or recovering. Two percent of patients were hospitalized, 8 percent were actively ill and 19 percent could not be reached.
Statewide, virus hospitalizations dropped by 70 patients between Thursday and early Friday, the biggest single-day decrease in some time. As of the most recent state data, Connecticut had 36,085 confirmed virus cases and 3,285 virus-associated deaths.
