Popular Restaurant To Close In Stratford

STRATFORD, CT — A popular restaurant and entertainment venue in Stratford will be closing its doors for good at the end of next month. The owners of Stanziale’s Banquet Room announced Tuesday that they will not be renewing their lease and the restaurant’s last day will be on June 30. Stanziale’s is located at 595 Main Street in Stratford.

“Don & Kim (Stanziale’s Restaurant) would like to ‘Thank all of our customers’ for the last 10 years,” the owners wrote in a post on Facebook. “We are sad to say that June 30th will be our last day open. We will not be renewing our lease. We want to thank all the past and present people that were involved with Stanziale’s and our staff who have worked with us and have become like family. We hope to see everyone in this next month to share a memory. PS: Don’t forget to redeem your gift certificates.”

Stanziale’s serves lunch and dinner, offers catering services and hosts “functions of all kinds,” including weddings, showers, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, fundraisers and more, according to its website. The restaurant also hosts daily entertainment.

The restaurant’s fans were saddened by the news of the closing with more than 160 comments on the Facebook post as of Wednesday morning.

“It's a sad day for Stratford, and so many friends/fellow musicians,” Bill Lopez wrote in a post. “In my 35 year career in music, never had a place who treated me better. Many thanks to the Stanziale family! And for Kim and Don... onto bigger and better things!”

Another fan wrote, “So sad to see y’all go but thankful for meeting you guys and having so many wonderful memories at your restaurant. Thank you for always giving back to the community and for the delicious food always served! Best of luck in your new journey!”
