Pup Born At Stratford Animal Control Needs Donations For Surgery
With most of its fundraisers canceled due to the coronavirus, the Stratford Animal Rescue Society is seeking donations for Maya the dog.

STRATFORD, CT — A Stratford animal rescue group is seeking donations for an injured pup.
Maya the dog was born at the town’s animal control facility and needs surgery after being diagnosed with a fractured tibial and shin growth plate, according to a message from the Stratford Animal Rescue Society.
“With most of our fundraisers canceled for the year due to Covid-19 we are low on funds,” the rescue said.

The Stratford Animal Rescue Society is a nonprofit for animals housed at animal control. The organization facilitates adoptions of homeless animals and raises money to provide food and medical care for impounded animals.
Tax-deductible check donations for Maya can be made payable and mailed to STARS, PO Box 1371, Stratford, CT 06615, with “Maya’s Surgery” on the memo line. Donations can also be made online at bit.ly/3cZsbss. As of early Tuesday, the online fundraiser was more than halfway to its $6,000 goal.
