Remote Learning Until February For 9 Classes At Stratford School

Four presumptive positive coronavirus cases were reported Wednesday at the school.

STRATFORD, CT — Several classes at Franklin Elementary School will be learning exclusively from home well into the next month.

Nine classrooms at Franklin will pivot to online-only learning until Feb. 8, according to an email from the school district, which reported four presumptive positive coronavirus cases Wednesday at the school. All the presumptive cases involved people living with others confirmed to have the virus.

Also Wednesday, the district reported one positive case each at Bunnell and Stratford high schools, and Second Hill Lane Elementary School.

As of early Thursday morning, 17 students and six staff members were in isolation with the virus across the district, and 262 students and staffers were quarantined, according to the district dashboard, which reflects the most current available numbers. The new presumptive cases at Franklin will not appear on the dashboard until they are confirmed, the school district said.
