STRATFORD, CT — The Town Council recently approved, by a 7-3 vote, to increase the Stratford mayor’s salary by around 12 percent – from the current $110,000 to $122,945 – effective next year, according to the Connecticut Post.

The Post reports next year’s raise will be followed by annual 2.25 percent increases. The salary for the mayor’s position has remained at $110,000 since 2013, despite a 2008 charter provision that calls on the council to address it by July 1 of each mayoral election year, according to the Post.

Democrats Kaitlyn Shake, Paul Tavaras and Greg Cann voted against the raise, the Post reported.
