I-95 Delays Continue After Semi Accident In Stratford
The accident resulted in minor injuries and closed interstate lanes into mid-day Friday.
STRATFORD, CT — A semitrailer accident on Interstate 95 resulted in minor injuries and major traffic delays Friday in Stratford. The incident, involving a trailer that left the roadway and went down an embankment, was reported about 6 a.m. near Exit 32 on I-95 southbound, according to state officials. Photos tweeted by Connecticut State Police about 8 a.m. showed workers attempting to pull the trailer from the embankment.
Closures related to the accident caused significant congestion, with a more than 5-mile backup on the interstate about five hours after the incident. As of about 1:45 p.m., the southbound right lane remained closed for emergency maintenance, and the area was congested for more than 4 miles, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
