Several Coronavirus Cases Reported At Stratford Schools

The Stratford High School baseball team won't play or practice until further notice, according to officials.

STRATFORD, CT — The Stratford school district reported several new cases of the coronavirus on Thursday.

Confirmed cases were reported at four schools and members of the Stratford High School baseball team will operate remotely on Friday, April 9.

The school district notified community members in an email of the following cases:

Stratford High School – 2 positive case, close contacts will be notified when contact tracing is completed.

Stratford High School Boys Baseball Team- will not play or practice until further notice. Students will work remotely on April 9.

Johnson House Elementary – 2 positive cases and 1 presumptive positive case, close contacts have been notified.

Nichols Elementary – 1 positive case, close contacts have been notified.

Wooster Middle School – 2 positive cases, and 3 presumptive positive cases, close contacts have been notified.

“The affected persons have been instructed to remain home in self-isolation for 10 calendar days and have been provided with additional instructions to follow prior to returning to school and work,” officials wrote in the email. “Family members have also been instructed to self-quarantine (this is 14 days from exposure) and get tested.

“Anyone who is considered a ‘close contact’ will be contacted by our school nurses and staff. They will provide instructions on the appropriate steps to take regarding quarantine and when to return to school or work.”
