Sikorsky Could Sell 6 Helicopters To Lithuania In $380M Deal
The proposed sale would include six UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters and related equipment.
STRATFORD, CT — Stratford-based Sikorsky is set to be involved in a possible $380 million helicopter sale to Lithuania, which was recently approved by the state department.
The proposed sale would include six UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters and related equipment, according to a July 6 news release from the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, which said Congress was notified of the deal last week.
“This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security of the United States by helping to improve the security of a NATO ally that is an important force for ensuring peace and stability in Europe,” the news release said. “… Lithuania intends to use these defense articles and services to modernize and expand its armed forces to provide multi-mission support in its region and combat terrorism threats.”
