Spring Fever: Stratford's Early Spring Forecast

The area will experience spring-like weather this week and we'll let you know what to expect each day. Is 70 degrees possible?

By Brian McCready

It looks like it’s time to put the snowblower away until next year, safe to remove the snow tires, and put the shovels way back in that obscure section of the garage or porch until next winter.

A look at the 15-day extended forecast via the Weather Channel for Connecticut shows no days below 50, except for Monday, March 14, which the high temp for that day is expected to be 49 degrees.

Of course, we never know with Mother Nature, but it really does look like winter may be over, a bit early this year. Last year we were dealing with snow into early April.

As for this week, it’s pretty flawless for what is still considered “winter.”

Here is the latest forecast via the National Weather Service:

  • Monday: Mostly sunny, temps in the low 50s.
  • Monday night: temps in the upper 30s to 40 degrees.
  • Tuesday: Partly sunny, temps in the mid to upper 50s.
  • Tuesday night: Lows near 40 degrees.
  • Wednesday: Sunny, temps in the mid 60s to near 70 degrees!
  • Wednesday night: Lows only near 50 degrees.
  • Thursday: Slight showers chance, then partly sunny skies with temps in the mid 60s.
  • Thursday night: Temps in the mid 40s.
  • Friday: A mini-cooldown, temps only into the low to mid 50s.
  • Friday night: Chillier with temps in the mid to upper 30s.
