Stratford Boys’ Basketball Rallies To Beat Rival Bunnell
The Red Devils staged a fourth-quarter rally to edge the rival Bulldogs.
STRATFORD, CT — The Stratford boys’ basketball team rallied from a 12-point deficit to defeat town rival Bunnell, 60-57, Tuesday night at Stratford High School.
Jayquan Kirkland led Stratford’s comeback by scoring 14 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter. Stratford's tenacious defense held Bunnell to eight points in the fourth quarter.
Scott Knorr converted two free throws with 25 seconds left on the clock to lift Stratford to a 58-54 lead. Bunnell turned the ball over on the next play, leading to Stratford's Jaden Perez banking in a layup to go up 60-54 with 9 seconds remaining.

Bunnell's Kevin Lanham hit a 3-pointer on the next play but time ran out and Stratford celebrated a 60-57 comeback victory.
Kirkland led Stratford (4-2) with 21 points, while Knorr had 16 points and Ben Petrie added eight.

Lanham led Bunnell (3-3) with a game-high 26 points, while Andrew Soltis scored 14 and Yarami McCollough had eight.
Stratford takes on Newtown at home on Friday, while Bunnell faces Masuk in Monroe on Monday. Both games are available on the NFHS Network.
