Stratford Closes Out Regular Season With Win Over New Milford

The Red Devils open the South-West Conference tournament against Pomperaug on Monday night.

STRATFORD, CT — The Stratford boys’ basketball team defeated New Milford 75-54 Friday night to finish the regular season with an 8-4 record.

Jayquan Kirkland and Brady Knorr led a balanced effort with 21 points apiece for the Red Devils.

Stratford earned the fourth seed in the South-West Conference tournament and played Pomperaug at home on Monday night. The game, scheduled to start at 7 p.m., was being broadcast on the NFHS Network.

Kolbe Cathedral 65, Stratford 46: Sixth-ranked Kolbe Cathedral pulled away from Stratford in the fourth quarter in a victory last Tuesday night in Bridgeport.

The Red Devils trailed by five points at the end of the third quarter. But, Kolbe went on a run and outscored Stratford 19-8 in the fourth quarter en route to the victory.

Stratford's Brady Knorr scored a game-high 20 points, while Ty Staples-Santos led undefeated Kolbe Cathedral with 15 points.
