Stratford High School Mourning Student's Death

"Our community mourns this loss of such a young person so suddenly," Superintendent Janet Robinson said in a message to families.

STRATFORD, CT — Stratford High School is mourning the death of one of its students.

“It is with great sorrow that I must inform our Stratford community that we lost one of our Stratford High School students last night,” Superintendent Janet Robinson said in a message to families. “Our community mourns this loss of such a young person so suddenly. Our condolences and special thoughts and prayers are with the student's family at this time.”

Robinson did not identify the student, but in an email to Patch, she confirmed the death was not coronavirus-related.

Counselors are being made available remotely for students, she said. Robinson also referred families who are struggling with the loss to contact Stratford Community Services at 203-385-4095 or Kids in Crisis at 203-327-5439, or to visit childmind.org/guide/helping-children-cope-traumatic-event/.

“Remember, at all times, you are not alone,” Robinson said.
