Stratford High School Switching To Online Only; 89 Quarantined

Stratford High School students will be learning remotely until Thanksgiving break amid an increase in coronavirus cases and quarantines.

STRATFORD, CT — Stratford High School will close its building to students and switch to online-only learning for the majority of November amid rising coronavirus cases and quarantines.

The school, which has been using the district’s hybrid learning model, will start full-time distance learning Monday and remain completely remote through the Thanksgiving holiday, with students returning to the classroom Nov. 30, according to a message Sunday from the school’s administration.

Superintendent Janet Robinson notified parents and staff in a separate message Sunday that a community member who had tested positive for the virus had been in close contact with multiple staff members, who would be required to quarantine for two weeks.

As of early Monday, two students and nine staffers at the school were in isolation after they were confirmed to have the virus, according to the district’s data dashboard, which reflects the most current available numbers.
