STRATFORD, CT — A traffic stop led to the arrest of a Stratford man on drug and gun charges on Tuesday, according to Connecticut State Police.

The incident happened around 9:40 p.m. when a state trooper saw a 1995 Honda Civic traveling south on Route 25 near Exit 3 in Bridgeport. The driver was using all three lanes to pass other vehicles and flashing their high beam headlights at other drivers to get them to move over, according to police.

The Honda was traveling at more than 78 mph in a 40-mph zone when it passed the trooper, police said.

Police noted that the Honda only had a rear registration plate, which they said appeared to be a misuse, and a traffic stop was initiated near Exit 2. The driver couldn’t initially provide identification and couldn’t produce proof of registration or insurance for the vehicle, according to police.

The driver, later identified as Yan Lee DeJesus through his Connecticut ID card, was detained and handcuffed during an investigation, police said.
