Stratford Man Sentenced In Attempted Armed Robbery Case: Report
A Stratford man accused of attempting to rob a mother and her toddler at gunpoint in Stamford has been sentenced to prison.
STAMFORD, CT — A Stratford man accused of attempting to rob a mother and her toddler at gunpoint before a 2015 cancer awareness walk in Stamford was sentenced to five years in prison Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree robbery, the Connecticut Post reports.
According to the Connecticut Post, police said Chris Smith, 49, pointed a gun at a 4-year-old child's head and demanded valuables from the child's mother before a bystander distracted him and the mother was able to push him away. Smith was later arrested following a December 2015 police chase.
