Stratford Opens Cooling Stations Amid Heat Advisory

High temperatures are expected to be at or near 90 degrees​ through Wednesday.

STRATFORD, CT — Stratford has opened cooling stations to help residents through the extreme heat forecast this week. A heat advisory is in effect for Stratford through 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. High temperatures are expected to be at or near 90 degrees.

The Birdseye Center, 468 Birdseye St., will be open as a cooling station 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday, and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, according to a town news release

The YMCA, 3045 Main St., will also be open for charging phones and devices from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, and for showers from 4 to 7 p.m. the same days.
