Stratford Puts Beavers on Notice
The town has devised a plan to mitigate some of its flooding problems.

STRATFORD, CT - Town officials have begun trapping and killing beavers at Pumpkin Ground Brook in Roosevelt Forest because the animals were causing a flooding problem for homes near the park.
The Stratford Star reports that the traps were recently installed by Wild Things LLC at the suggestion of the Roosevelt Forest Commission.
Not all commissioners and officials are happy with the prospect of killing the beavers, but state laws do not allow for trapping and relocating the animals because they could cause problems or spread disease to other areas.
